BRAKIM Racing, the rally team that's probably better known for flying than driving, is building a rally car out of a Lamborghini Gallardo. They're calling it the BRAKIMGHINI.
BRAKIM posted a video celebrating the start of the build by doing flame-spitting donuts with it in the dirt:
This isn't some Forza Horizon dream. BRAKIM is really, actually turning this thing into a full-fledged real-life competition rally car in the real world.
According to their Facebook page, this Gallardo is going to get stripped down, caged, a race-prepped motor, and reassembled with carbon fiber body parts for competition.
BRAKIM is getting Reiger Racing Suspension to build a custom gravel-capable rally suspension just for the BRAKIMGHINI. They expect 7.5 inches of suspension travel (on a Lamborghini!) when the build is complete.
Here at ineptechs, we love rally racing. We also love driving Lamborghini Gallardos. This project is everything we love all rolled into one little flame-spitting package. It's safe to say we're excited about this thing.
BRAKIM has set up a dedicated website for the build at www.BRAKIMGHINI.com. At the time of this writing, the website is nothing but a BRAKIMGHINI logo, but I expect we're going to see some awesome content there soon. In the meantime, peruse throughtheir Facebook page for a ton of photos and follow along with their hashtag, #BRAKIMGHINI, to hold you over.
We'll keep you posted.
